WELCOME
Maryland Behavioral Health Integration in Pediatric Primary Care (BHIPP) supports the efforts of primary care and emergency medicine professionals to assess and manage the mental health needs of their patients from infancy through the transition to young-adulthood through the following services:
Consultation Warmline
Child mental health specialists are available Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm (except major holidays) to provide consultation in many areas of behavioral health including medication management, diagnostic issues, developmental delays, school/learning issues, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, and early childhood mental health.
Training & Education
BHIPP offers numerous training and educational opportunities for primary care and emergency medicine professionals, from Grand Rounds at hospitals across the state to presentations for individual practices. New in 2020: BHIPP ECHO Clinics case-based learning community, BHIPP Resilience Breaks and Mental Health Crisis Training CME/CEU webinars!
Social Work Co-Location
In partnership with Salisbury University and Morgan State University, BHIPP provides regionally specific social work co-location in primary care practices. MSW social work interns are available on-site to provide screening, brief intervention, referral and real-time consultation to PCPs.
Telepsychiatry Access Program ( TAP)
BHIPP TAP services include Telepsychiatry (e.g., consultation, evaluation, medication prescribing), Telepsychology or Telecounseling (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, etc.) and Care Coordination. All telemental health services take place through a HIPAA-compliant encrypted video call.

BHIPP is supported by funding from the Maryland Department of Health, Behavioral Health Administration and operates as a collaboration between the University of Maryland School of Medicine, the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Salisbury University and Morgan State University.
